Over the past two years, I’ve explored more than 55,000 images through a process of imagination, experimentation, and refinement. From this sea of possibilities, only a carefully chosen few have made their way into our collections.
Each piece has been refined again and again until the balance, color, and emotion felt exactly right.
This isn’t mass production, it’s a labor of passion, and it shows in every piece.

I made a deliberate choice when it comes to size: while most wall art is offered in small, standard formats, Wallimals is designed to stand out. My artworks are created as large, statement pieces - starting from 70 x 70 cm for the smallest square prints, and scaling up from there. I want the art to do more than blend into a wall - it should have presence, energy, and character.

Wallimals is the heart of my work: a collection of limited edition animal artworks designed to be approachable, expressive, and stylish, with a playful edge that makes them easy to love. Each design is available in just 250 pieces, making every print both personal and exclusive.

Wild Essence by Wallimals is where the art takes on a bolder, more refined presence. These are ultra-limited works of 10 editions each, often in strikingly large formats, created to make a powerful statement in a space. Wild Essence is for those who want something rare and unforgettable, the pieces that stand out and hold a room.

Both collections grow from the same dedication - countless hours, thousands of iterations, and a commitment to releasing only the pieces that truly move me.

Behind the collections is the studio’s founder, Ane Thorkildson - the vision and heart behind Wallimals and Wild Essence.

I’ve always been drawn to creating - to design, to lines, to form, and to emotion.
While I never followed a traditional path into art or design, creativity has always been at the core of who I am. When I was younger, I dreamt of becoming a clothing designer, a product designer, and even a painter, though I never believed I was talented enough to make that a reality.

Wallimals and Wild Essence became the way I finally learned to express that creative part of myself.
For me, art is about connection - capturing the quiet strength and emotion of animals, and translating that into something that belongs in our everyday spaces.

My love for animals and nature runs deep; it’s been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father was a gifted drawer, and my uncle an artist, maybe that creative spark runs in the family. But more than anything, I believe it’s driven by a wish to create something meaningful, something that speaks softly but leaves a mark.

Wallimals and Wild Essence are built on care - for the art itself, for the animals that inspire it, and for the people who invite these works into their homes. 
Every piece is a reminder to pause, feel, and reconnect - with nature, with presence, and with yourself.
